All these efforts are considered Maunsell’s company assets, hence, they need an efficient storage system to store all the staff’s data, as well as their drawings. However, there are a few aspects that need to be taken care of because they are using various OS and software among different departments. Hence, the storage must be able to propagate the  windows active directory to the NAS and it must be able to work on different types of OS platform. It must also be able to use with generic Backup software like Veritus or CA Arcserve. In addition, Maunsell Consultant is also concerned with some of the basic features of  the storage, such as the file transfers speed, scalability, ease of usage and economical values.

The Solutions
SDB recommended Ingrasys’s NAStorage 8420RR to Mausell Consultant because it fulfills all the requirements raised by Maunsell. Ingrasys NAStorage allows users to propagate windows active directory to the NAS. It can also provide storage that is heterogeneous  across any OS platforms. Ingrasys allows multiple clients to copy and archive important files to a secondary location. This provides clients with an online backup of information in the event of local drive failure. With dual Ethernet port, users are able to trunk with  2-network bandwidth that can be used for file transfer thus increasing the performance of the NAStorage.

The Results
Maunsell have tested many NAS previously and they have decided to purchase Ingrasys NAStorage as they are deeply attracted to the feature where users can propagate the windows active directory to the NAS. With this feature, they are able to release the tedious job of  re-keying in all their user names, passwords as well as permissions. This will in turn save their manpower and time tremendously.
