The Challenges
The tremendous growth of SNP business is driving its staff to boost up their working performances. However, SNP realises that to increase the productivity cannot relying on their manpower only, but also the office facilities. Therefore, SNP decided to upgrade their office  facilities to assist its staff to perform better. First of all, their Storage needs to be upgrade because the existing file server is not able to handle the increasing load. Besides the storage capacity, they also want a new centralised DAS to store all the accounting data and Graphic Images. Speed of the storage is another concern for SNP as it must be fast enough for the big graphic images.

The Solutions
After studying the case of SNP, SDB Solutions & Services thinks PROMISE Vtrak 210P DAS is the perfect solution that can cater to all of SNP’s needs. Promise VTrak 210 is optimised for organisations deploying small to medium application servers, disk-to-disk backup and direct-attach storage solutions. SDB has proposed for PROMISE Vtrak 210P DAS to be connected to their 2 servers (i.e. Accounting servers and the Graphic Imaging servers) through SCSI connections in their company. Even though there is a huge file transferring, it would not slow down the entire company network. To enhance the speed, we suggested them to use the latest fast speed SCSI protocol SCSI 320, thus fulfilling their need for a fast storage-transferring rate. Apart from this, Promise Vtrak 210P DAS has also come with intelligent RAID that delivers the highest level of reliability and data protection cost-effectively. As the capacity of storage arrays increases, the risk of encountering unrecoverable read errors also increases. For this reason, RAID can handle double drive failures and thereby provide greater protection against data loss.

The Results
