Deutsche Bank
Deutsche Bank is one of the world’s leading financial service providers. With more than 95,000 employees, the bank serves more than 12 million customers in more than 70 countries worldwide. In the Far East, Deutsche Bank provides corporate and investment banking services, asset management and online banking services.
The Challenges
With an interesting concept of introducing service bureau facilities to its clients, Deutsche Bank searched for an automated data capturing and processing solution, which is capable of handling tens of thousands of semi-structured forms in a four-hour time window. With their current manpower and facilities, they are unable to meet the input rates that the business had projected. They simply could not input as many applicationsas were being submitted. Therefore, Deutsche Bank required an efficient, scalable,cost-effective solution, designed for the future to replace their existing solution. The application included processing 20,000 cheques and 3,000 invoices, all in the fourhour time window. The information was then to interface with the corporate SQL backend and clearing processes. The application included scanning the images in grayscale, and imprinting the cheques with special tags that created a legally binding digital image.
The Solutions
TiS, together with a local partner TRRS, has implemented the required application is in four regional offices, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. The project’s second phase will include implementation in Thailand, Philippines, India and Korea, The various markets implied the recognition of forms with different languages and the quick and easy deployment in each office across this region in order to ensure a fast return on their investment.
The Results
After implementation of the TiS application, the time to process cheques has reduced drastically. Now they are able to save up to 30% of time and cost. Their staff workload was significantly reduced while the throughput increases dramatically.
